Founded by Felix Von Scheffer and Simon Karlsetter, Der Greif is a handsome photography and literature publication from Germany.

Boasting a wide selection of photographers and authors, Der Greif showcases photographs capturing the quieter, often unnoticed side of life. The overall experience feels both haunting and beautiful.

Paper

The paper is Revive 100 Natural Uncoated, and feels almost like newspaper stock to the touch. While this makes it prone to yellowed edges and unseemly creases, the decidedly lo-fi paper selection feels correct.

Typography

The typography is understated but refined, taking a backseat to the striking photographs and the stark white space. The typefaces include Complex Schriftsystem and Complex Serif, created by Hans Richard Heitman.
